The Milwaukee Bucks are 10-5 on the season. They have the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. However, Giannis Antetokounmpo believes the team has to get “better.”
“I still think we’re still trying to figure out,” Antetokounmpo said, via ESPN. “Not who we are, but who we are trying to be. One thing I know for sure is that we’ve got to get better. We are not even close to, what I believe, what we can really do as a team. … We’re going to try to figure out as a team what works, what doesn’t work and it’s going to be a process.”
The Bucks lost to the Boston Celtics on November 22 by a final score of 119-116. The loss snapped Milwaukee’s five-game winning streak.
The Bucks’ five losses on the season have come against the Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, Orlando Magic and Celtics.
NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks Updates
Antetokounmpo is averaging 29.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks on the season while shooting 60.1% from the field, 23.3% from beyond the arc and 62.5% from the free-throw line.
“We just gotta be better,” Antetokounmpo said. “They (the Celtics) want to shoot a lot of 3s. They get comfortable by shooting 3s. They play well when they shoot 3s and then they’re able to break down your defense and drive the ball, get in the paint and then kick it out for another 3. We got to do a better job to just defend the 3-point line, keeping guys in front of us. Hopefully next time, when we play them, we can do that. Or next time we play another team that wants to shoot a lot of 3s, we can do (that).”
