During an interview with Jamal Collier of ESPN, Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard talked about his partnership with superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Bucks are 10-5 on the season and 9-3 when Lillard and Antetokounmpo are both in the lineup.

“We’re still learning each other,” Lillard said. “If it would’ve been flipped and him coming to Portland to play with me, I would’ve already been comfortable because I’ve been here. He would have been trying to adapt and get comfortable and figure out how he fits in and maybe would have been a bit more passive in trying to learn the way. That’s me right now.”

Lillard is averaging 24.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.2 assists for the Bucks, while Antetokounmpo is averaging 29.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, Milwaukee Bucks Updates

“It’s such a long season, we don’t want to be perfect right now,” Lillard said. “Obviously, we want to be good. We want to be better than we have been, but we don’t want to be perfect. I’m happy we’ve been having some success and have been able to win games as we go through the process.”

The Bucks have the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. They lost to the Boston Celtics on November 22. It was a big game since the Celtics are the best team in the NBA.

“To start the season we had some adversity, we had some ugly outings,” Lillard said. “I think any time you want to accomplish anything in this league you’ve got to be willing to go through the hard times and go through the hard parts of being an NBA player. We’ve been able to win some games through that and now that it’s starting to click it looks better and it’s starting to roll how people expected it.”
