Blockbuster Trade Proposal Sends Bulls’ DeMar DeRozan, Alex Caruso To Lakers

One NBA writer is proposing that the Los Angeles Lakers acquire DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso from the Chicago Bulls.

Fran Leiva of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Golden State Warriors, Lakers, Miami Heat and Bulls.

Golden State Warriors receive: Nikola Vucevic, Austin Reaves, Nikola Jovic

Los Angeles Lakers receive: DeMar DeRozan, Alex Caruso, Moses Moody

Miami Heat receive: Zach LaVine, Gabe Vincent

Chicago Bulls receive: Tyler Herro, Andrew Wiggins, Rui Hachimura, Duncan Robinson, 2028 first-round pick (via Lakers), 2027 first-round pick (via Heat)

The Lakers are interested in acquiring DeRozan and Caruso from the Bulls, league sources told NBA Analysis Network. Los Angeles could start D’Angelo Russell, Caruso, DeRozan, LeBron James and Anthony Davis if the Lakers’ front office figured out a way to acquire DeRozan and Caruso from the Bulls.

DeRozan, who is in the final year of his contract, is averaging 21.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists on the season while shooting 45.0% from the field, 38.2% from beyond the arc and 81.1% from the free-throw line. The six-time All-Star was born and raised in California and has a relationship with LeBron and Davis.

Meanwhile, Caruso is averaging 9.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.9 blocks this season while shooting 58.7% from the floor, 50.0% from 3 and 76.0% from the free-throw line. The former Lakers guard is one of the best defenders in the NBA. Caruso made the All-Defensive first team last season and he could make it again this season.
