One NBA writer is proposing that the Philadelphia 76ers acquire Buddy Hield from the Indiana Pacers.

Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Sixers, Pacers and Washington Wizards:

Indiana Pacers get: Kyle Kuzma, Anthony Gill, Furkan Korkmaz

Washington Wizards get: Marcus Morris, KJ Martin, Jaden Springer, Isaiah Jackson

Philadelphia 76ers get: Buddy Hield, Delon Wright

The Sixers could start Tyrese Maxey, De’Anthony Melton, Hield, Tobias Harris and Joel Embiid if Philadelphia’s front office figured out a way to acquire Hield from Indiana.

Hield is averaging 12.1 points this season while shooting 37.2% from beyond the arc. He’s one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA.

“While Philadelphia might like to add one player who can shoot and defend (a premium in the modern NBA), Hield would help space the floor for stars Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, and Wright is a strong point-of-attack defender,” Pincus wrote.

Hield is in the final year of his contract. He’s open to getting traded from the Pacers since the franchise didn’t give him an extension.

“And while Philadelphia may have success shopping in 2024 free agency, having the rights to retain Hield and Wright could still prove valuable in building next year’s squad,” Pincus wrote.

Hield has career averages of 16.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists with the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings and Pacers. He’s a career 40.2% shooter from 3.

The Sixers have the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. It will be interesting to see if Daryl Morey makes another trade this season after sending James Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers.
