In a recent article from Bleacher Report, the Los Angeles Lakers made a big deal for Zach LaVine. Here’s how it could happen. Even though the NBA season has just started for the Los Angeles Lakers, there is always talk about how the team could make some upgrades. With the team off to a 6-6 start, the Lakers want to be a title contender this season.
Last year, the Lakers made a lot of moves to improve their team and their depth. The moves for the most part worked as the Lakers made the Western Conference Finals. Ultimately they came up just short, and they might be looking to add some more star power this season.
In the article from Bleacher Report, the Lakers made a deal with the Chicago Bulls for Zach LaVine in exchange for D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Maxwell Lewis, and a 2029 first-round pick.
This deal would likely be appealing for both sides, as the Lakers would get a star player in LaVine who could help get them over the hump in the Western Conference. This season, LaVine is averaging 21.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.

For the Bulls, it feels like they are going to be either heading into a rebuild or at the very least a reset. At 4-8 this season, making the playoffs doesn’t seem realistic for the Bulls in the Eastern Conference.
Moving on from LaVine makes sense for the Bulls at this point, and getting a future first-round pick could be important. Also, they would be getting some solid players in D’Angelo Russell and Rui Hachimura, who they could look to potentially move as well.
