One NBA writer is proposing that the Los Angeles Lakers acquire DeMar DeRozan from the Chicago Bulls and Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors.
Fran Leiva of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Lakers, Bulls, Raptors and San Antonio Spurs:
Los Angeles Lakers receive: DeMar DeRozan, Pascal Siakam
Chicago Bulls receive: Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell, Gabe Vincent, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Jakob Poeltl, 2024 first-round pick (via Raptors)
Toronto Raptors receive: Nikola Vucevic, Rui Hachimura, Malaki Branham, Blake Wesley, Siddy Cissoko
San Antonio Spurs receive: Coby White, Max Christie, 2025 first-round pick (via Lakers), 2028 second-round pick (via Bulls)
The Lakers are interested in acquiring DeRozan from the Bulls, sources told NBA Analysis Network. DeRozan is in the final year of his contract and Chicago may be headed toward a rebuild.

Siakam is also in the final year of his contract. The NBA champion hasn’t been linked to the Lakers in any trade rumors, but that could change if the Raptors continue to struggle.
Los Angeles could start LeBron James, DeRozan, Jarred Vanderbilt, Siakam and Anthony Davis if the Lakers’ front office figured out a way to acquire DeRozan and Siakam.
DeRozan is averaging 21.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists on the season, while Siakam is putting up 18.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.
DeRozan took part in meetings at LeBron’s house in the summer of 2021. The All-Star thought he would sign with the Lakers. However, after Los Angeles acquired Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards, DeRozan joined the Bulls.
DeRozan was born and raised in California. He grew up a Lakers fan and has a relationship with LeBron and Davis. If the Bulls decide to tear the roster down, DeRozan would “love” to get traded to the Lakers, sources told NBA Analysis Network.

Siakam hasn’t requested a trade from the Raptors despite not receiving an extension. His future has been hard to get a read on.
