Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey scored a career-high 50 points against the Indiana Pacers on November 12. It was the best game of his career and the youngster dedicated his special outing to Kelly Oubre Jr.
Oubre Jr. was hit by a car on November 11 and suffered a fractured rib.
“This had nothing to do with me,” Maxey said. “This is all Kelly Oubre. We’re praying for him. Love my dawg. I just met him, but I love him. I hope he gets well soon.”

Oubre Jr. was struck in a hit-and-run incident on a Center City Philadelphia street and had to be transported to a hospital. The Sixers said in a statement Oubre Jr. would be re-evaluated in a week. His injuries are not considered season-ending.
“The game today, I’m sure Tyrese was thinking about it and we were all thinking about it,” Joel Embiid said. “We just want [Oubre] to take his time, recover and know that we have his back. He’s needed because he’s a big part of us. We missed him tonight, but he should take his time.”
Maxey shot 20-of-32 from the field, 7-of-11 from beyond the arc and 3-of-3 from the free-throw line against the Pacers. He finished with 50 points, seven rebounds and five assists in 39 minutes.
“I had been missing the open 3s and I kept telling my uncle that I can’t keep missing them,” Maxey said. “Tonight, they fell.”
