Los Angeles Clippers small forward Paul George had one of the worst games of his career on November 10 against the Dallas Mavericks. The All-Star finished with just eight points while shooting 3-of-12 from the field and 1-of-7 from beyond the arc in 22 minutes.

The Clippers got blown out by the Mavericks by 18 points. After the game, George told reporters that he won’t be passive anymore.

“I let the team down with that approach, but again, it won’t happen again,” George said. “The mindset will be in attack mode at all times.”

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Paul George, Los Angeles Clippers Updates

The Clippers are 0-3 with James Harden in the lineup and George hasn’t looked like himself. He’s averaging 14.0 points while shooting 27.9% from the floor and 17.4% from 3 in three games with Harden.

George, though, still believes the Harden trade will work out for the Clippers.

“At some point, it’s going to work and nobody’s going to talk about the rotations and guys on the floor and personnel,” George said. “And at some point, we’re going to figure it out.”

The Clippers are 3-5 on the season. They have lost four straight games. George, who has a player option for next season, is averaging 23.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists in eight games while shooting 46.5% overall, 39.1% from deep and 95.6% from the foul line.

Before the Harden trade, Russell Westbrook averaged 72 touches per game, George averaged 59 and Kawhi Leonard averaged 54. In three games together since the trade, with Harden averaging 56 touches, George has averaged seven fewer, Leonard has averaged 14 fewer and Westbrook has averaged 32 fewer per game.

Westbrook and Leonard are averaging more points per touch since the Harden trade, but that hasn’t been the case for George, who went from a team-best efficiency of .486 points per touch before the Harden trade to .269 since The Beard came to LA.
