LeBron James was bashed by critics after passing the ball to Cam Reddish with the game on the line in the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss to the Miami Heat on November 6. Fans and pundits wanted LeBron to shoot the ball.
However, LeBron would have had to shoot over two Heat players, which is why he passed the ball to Reddish, who was open in the corner. Reddish missed the 3-pointer versus Miami, but the Duke product shot 5-of-8 from beyond the arc in the Lakers’ win versus the Phoenix Suns on November 10.
After the Lakers beat the Suns, LeBron clapped back at all the critics who ripped him for passing the ball to Reddish in the Heat game.
LeBron is arguably the smartest player in NBA history. He always makes the right basketball play and doesn’t care what people say about him when he passes the ball to an open teammate in the clutch instead of taking the shot himself over two defenders.
NBA NEWS & RUMORS: LeBron James, Cam Reddish, Los Angeles Lakers Updates
The Lakers improved to 4-5 on the season after beating the Suns. It was Los Angeles’ first road win.
“I think it’s the first time that we finally got over the hump as far as this road trip,” LeBron said. “… We finally were able to make one of those momentum shots, and once that momentum shot opened, I felt like the floodgates started [early in the fourth] and then guys really started knocking them down. We’ve been playing from behind in a lot of our games and haven’t been able to take the lead in some of the later games that we’ve lost. So that was a good feeling.”
