One NBA writer is proposing that the Los Angeles Lakers acquire Zach LaVine and Torrey Craig from the Chicago Bulls.
Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Lakers and Bulls:
Zach LaVine, Torrey Craig and Terry Taylor for D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, Taurean Prince Jalen Hood-Schifino and a lightly-protected 2029 first-rounder
LaVine has the same agent (Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group) as Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis. If the Bulls decide to rebuild and trade LaVine, the two-time All-Star would “love” to get traded to the Lakers, league sources told NBA Analysis Network.
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Zach LaVine, Torrey Craig, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers Updates
Los Angeles could start Gabe Vincent, LaVine, Jarred Vanderbilt, LeBron and Davis if the Lakers’ front office figured out a way to acquire LaVine from the Bulls.
One of the best scorers in the NBA, LaVine is averaging 22.4 points this season while shooting 42.5% from the field, 33.8% from beyond the arc and 84.6% from the free-throw line. The two-time Slam Dunk Contest winner scored a career-high 51 points on October 28 versus the Detroit Pistons.
The Lakers have started the season 3-5. They are winless on the road and don’t look like a championship contender. LaVine is a three-level scorer who would flourish playing next to LeBron and Davis since he’s an excellent 3-point shooter.
Los Angeles needs more shooters around LeBron and Davis, as the team is 29th in the NBA in 3-point field goals and 30th in 3-point field goal percentage.
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Zach LaVine, Torrey Craig, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers Updates
LaVine has career averages of 20.5 points with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Bulls. The Lakers should do everything they can to acquire LaVine, who played his college ball at UCLA.
This trade idea Pincus came up with would also net Los Angeles a solid two-way player in Craig, who can shoot 3s and defend at a high level.
