The Los Angeles Clippers are interested in trading for Indiana Pacers big man Daniel Theis, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Theis is not part of the Pacers rotation and he’s not happy about it. The Clippers are looking for a center since Mason Plumlee will miss the next few months with a knee injury.

After the Pacers lost to the Boston Celtics on November, 1, Theis expressed his displeasure with the role he currently has with the Pacers.

“Obviously, after a great summer, I’m not happy with the situation I’m in right now,” Theis told Brian Robb of MassLive. “I want to play and take all the good stuff from the summer into the season, but it’s a long season. We are going to see what’s going on and what’s happening.”

Theis played well this past summer for Germany in the FIBA World Cup. He was looking forward to helping the Pacers win games this season. It will be interesting to see if the Clippers are able to acquire the veteran.

The 31-year-old Theis has career NBA averages of 7.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.9 blocks with the Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets and Pacers. Theis is making $9.1 million this season.

The Clippers are 3-4 on the season. They are currently on a three-game losing streak. Los Angeles is 0-2 with James Harden in the lineup. The team lost to the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets.
