Brooklyn Nets rising star Cam Thomas will miss the next two weeks with an ankle injury, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Thomas sprained his left ankle on November 8 against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Thomas is averaging 26.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists on the season for the Nets while shooting 47.9% from the field, 32.1% from beyond the arc and 85.1% from the free-throw line.

The Nets improved to 4-4 on the season after beating the Clippers at home. Everyone in the rotation will have to step up while Thomas is out.

Thomas has scored over 30 points four times this season. He dropped 45 points on November 6 against the Milwaukee Bucks.

“Anytime you average 26 points a game to start the season, that’s a good thing,” Thomas told Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. “Last year, I was probably only averaging about 2-5 points at this same time. Then, by the end of last year, I averaged about 10 points, and now it’s 26. Obviously, it’s somewhat of a breakout, but I just want to keep building. It’s still early. As long as I can stay consistent, that’s the main thing, whether it’s 15, 20, or 30 points. I want to play a complete game, be consistent, and help my team out the best way I can.”

Hopefully, Thomas will be able to return to the court in two weeks or less. He has become must-see television for the Nets.

“I want to keep playing and stay in the rotation as I keep growing,” Thomas told Scotto. “I want to be the best version of myself. Everything else will take care of itself. I’m not doing anything that I haven’t been doing. I’m just staying in the moment. I want to keep playing and be a valuable piece to the team because I feel like I can really help the team this year.”
