It looks like Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis will play against the Houston Rockets on November 8 after suffering a hip/groin injury against the Miami Heat on November 6.

Davis participated in the Lakers’ morning shootaround in Houston. He was pictured next to LeBron James and Rui Hachimura.

Davis played 25 minutes versus the Heat. He finished with nine points, six rebounds, four assists and one block while shooting 4-of-7 from the floor and 1-of-1 from the free-throw line. The Lakers lost to the Heat by one point to drop to 3-4 on the season. AD tried to play through his injury, but the big man wasn’t able to move at all.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Anthony Davis, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers Updates

Davis hasn’t been able to stay healthy since helping the Lakers win the 2020 championship over the Heat at the Walt Disney World bubble. He has suffered several injuries and Los Angeles hasn’t been back to the NBA Finals since 2020.

Davis signed a three-year, $186 million extension with the Lakers this past offseason. The Chicago native is committed to Los Angeles for five more years and approximately $270.5 million. Davis’ extension, which kicks in for the 2025-26 season, is the richest extension in NBA history with a projected average annual value of $62 million.

LeBron is 38 years old. He turns 39 in December and is playing in his 21st season in the NBA. The Lakers need Davis to be the best player on the team. However, his body may not be able to hold up. Davis also has a tendency to not play like the superstar he is every game.

It will be interesting to see how Davis plays against the Rockets. The Lakers have to win to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season.
