Pelicans’ CJ McCollum Suffers Serious Injury

CJ McCollum, New Orleans Pelicans, NBA News

The New Orleans Pelicans announced that CJ McCollum has been diagnosed with a small pneumothorax in his right lung after medical imaging was taken.

Additional examination will be performed in the next 48 hours to determine the healing progress. More information will be provided following the examination.

According to the Mayo Clinic, a pneumothorax “occurs when air leaks into the space between your lung and chest wall. This air pushes on the outside of your lung and makes it collapse. A pneumothorax can be a complete lung collapse or a collapse of only a portion of the lung.”
