Lakers’ Anthony Davis Speaks Out On Injury He Suffered Vs. Heat

Anthony Davis suffered a hip/groin injury in the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss to the Miami Heat. The big man tried to play through the injury but wasn’t able to move up and down the court.

After the Lakers lost to the Heat, Davis talked about his injury.

Davis played 25 minutes versus the Heat. He finished with nine points, six rebounds, four assists and one block while shooting 4-of-7 from the field and 1-of-1 from the free-throw line. The Lakers lost to the Heat by one point to drop to 3-4 on the season.

Los Angeles is back in action on November 8 against the Houston Rockets. Davis thinks he’ll be able to play.

Davis hasn’t been able to stay healthy since helping the Lakers win the 2020 championship. He has suffered several injuries and Los Angeles hasn’t been back to the NBA Finals since 2020.

Davis signed a three-year, $186 million extension with the Lakers this past offseason. The Chicago native is committed to Los Angeles for five more years and approximately $270.5 million. Davis’ extension, which kicks in for the 2025-26 season, is the richest extension in NBA history with a projected average annual value of $62 million.

LeBron James is 38. He turns 39 in December and is playing in his 21st season in the NBA. The Lakers need Davis to be the leader of the team. However, his body may not be able to hold up.
