One NBA writer is proposing that the Toronto Raptors acquire Immanuel Quickley and Evan Fournier from the New York Knicks in a blockbuster deal. Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Raptors and Knicks:

Toronto Raptors Receive: G Immanuel Quickley, F Evan Fournier

New York Knicks Receive: F OG Anunoby

Fournier has been out of the Knicks’ rotation since last season and New York’s front office didn’t sign Quickley to a rookie-scale extension. Both players are trade candidates and Swartz believes Quickley “would make a huge difference for this Raptors offense.”

“Quickley, 24, didn’t come to terms on a rookie extension with the Knicks, leaving his future with the franchise in doubt,” Swartz wrote in his NBA trade column. “He’s shown All-Star potential when given the opportunity, however, averaging 22.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists while shooting 40.1 percent from deep in 21 starts last season. Quickley would make a huge difference for this Raptors offense with his speed, bounce and ability to shoot from all over the floor.”

The Raptors have started the season 2-3. The team could start Quickley, Gary Trent Jr., Scottie Barnes, Pascal Siakam and Jakob Poeltl if Toronto’s front office traded Anunoby to New York for Quickley and Fournier.

Quickley is averaging 16.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists through five games this season while shooting 45.9% from the field, 32.1% from beyond the arc and 84.2% from the free-throw line. Meanwhile, Fournier has yet to play since he’s still not in the rotation.

The Knicks need a third “star” next to Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle. Anunoby fits that bill. Meanwhile, the Raptors need more scoring threats. Quickley and Fournier both fit that bill. This trade idea from Swartz makes a lot of sense for both New York and Toronto.
