After the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Los Angeles Clippers on November 1, Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum took to social media to react to LeBron James’ huge night. The NBA’s all-time leading scorer finished with 35 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists.

LeBron, 38, is the oldest player in the NBA. He’s in his 21st season in the league and is coming off a trip to the Western Conference Finals. The 19-time All-Star is still one of the best players in the world and Tatum is amazed by that.

The Lakers improved to 3-2 on the season after beating the Clippers for the first time since 2020. LeBron is averaging 24.6 points, 9.2 rebounds and 6.6 assists through five games while shooting 56.5% from the field, 35.5% from beyond the arc and 55.2% from the free-throw line.

LeBron has scored 51 points (10.2 points per game) in the fourth quarter and overtime this season, shooting 21-for-31 from the field (68%). The King continues to show why he’s arguably the greatest player in NBA history.

“If we keep the game close, I feel like in the fourth quarter, that’s when I’m at my best,” LeBron said after the Lakers-Clippers game. “If the game is close, I can make plays to help us win the ballgame, no matter who is out on the floor for us.”

Lakers big man Anthony Davis, who put up 27 points and 10 rebounds against the Clippers, is enjoying the LeBron show just like everyone else is.

“He’s been phenomenal down the stretch,” Davis said about LeBron. “I think [the coaching staff is] kind of banking minutes early on and then letting [James] just kind of flow throughout the fourth quarter.”
