Damian Lillard had a night to forget in his second game with the Milwaukee Bucks. The superstar point guard scored just six points against the Atlanta Hawks while shooting 2-of-12 from the field and 2-of-8 from beyond the arc. Lillard, one of the best players in the NBA, turned the ball over six times in the Bucks’ 17-point loss at home to the Hawks.

“Obviously, I didn’t shoot the ball well,” Lillard said. “I think it was just a tough game. They were the more aggressive team. They played more physical than we did. Just an early season bad game. We didn’t play well at either end of the floor and you got to give them credit for the way they came out.

“And I gotta be better when that’s happening. I can’t be the guy turning the ball over. But like I said, it’s a long season, you don’t want to have these types of games, but they happen and now we just gotta learn from ’em.”

Lillard was incredible in his first game with the Bucks versus the Philadelphia 76ers. The future Hall of Famer put up 39 points while shooting 9-of-20 from the floor and 4-of-12 from 3-point land. Every star in the NBA has poor shooting nights, so it’s not a big deal that Lillard struggled against the Hawks.

The Bucks are back in action today when they face the Miami Heat, the team Lillard requested a trade to in the offseason. Lillard called Milwaukee’s matchup against Miami “another game.”

“I’m not going into [Monday] like, ‘This is the team I was supposed to be playing for,’” Lillard said. “None of that. I know Jimmy [Butler], I know Bam [Adebayo]. We’re cool. But I play for the Bucks and I’m not going into it like that’s my former team or we were tied in or nothing like that. It’s just another game.”
