The Boston Celtics are considered a landing spot for NBA veteran Terrence Ross, who is currently an unrestricted free agent.

Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report thinks the Celtics could use Ross, who played for the Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns last season.

“Ross was a solid member of both the Magic and Suns last season, averaging 8.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, 0.6 steals and shooting 36.8 percent from three in 21.1 minutes per game,” Swartz wrote. “The 32-year-old could provide some instant offense as a shooting guard/small forward off the Celtics’ bench and has 47 games of playoff experience in his career.

“Ross connected on 38.8 percent of his catch-and-shoot threes in 2022-23 and should get plenty of open looks playing alongside Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porziņģis and others.”

Ross has career averages of 11.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists with the Toronto Raptors, Magic and Suns while shooting 41.8% from the field, 36.2% from beyond the arc and 83.7% from the free-throw line. The Washington product is a talented scorer and shooter.

The Celtics could bring Ross off the bench and ask him to give them 10-to-13 points per game. Ross has made 1,329 3-pointers in his career. He’s a proven shooter who could space the floor for the Celtics and create more driving lanes for Jrue Holiday, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Derrick White.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Terrence Ross, Boston Celtics Updates

The Celtics are last in the NBA right now in bench scoring (10.0 points per game), which is why Swartz believes Boston’s front office should sign Ross, who averaged 8.3 points with the Magic and Suns in 2022-23.
