According to NBA insider Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Philadelphia 76ers’ insistence on receiving Terance Mann from the Los Angeles Clippers in a James Harden trade is predicated on the fact that Sixers officials learned the Clippers offered Mann to the Portland Trail Blazers for Jrue Holiday.

The Sixers will not trade Harden to the Clippers unless Mann is included in the deal. Los Angeles has paused Harden trade talks with Philadelphia for now, according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Clippers could revisit Harden trade talks with the Sixers later in the season. Los Angeles began its season with a convincing win over the Blazers, while Philadelphia lost to the Milwaukee Bucks without Harden, who did not travel with the team after he was not allowed on the team plane.

Harden has been frustrated for months that his wish to be traded to the Clippers has yet to be granted. The 10-time All-Star called Sixers president Daryl Morey a “liar” during his Adidas tour in China in August since he wasn’t traded to Los Angeles after picking up his player option for this season.

Harden said on October 13 that there was no chance of his relationship with Morey being repaired and he repeatedly referred to Morey as “the front office” without saying his name.

“No,” Harden said when asked directly whether he thought things could get patched up with Morey. “This is not even about this situation — this is in life. When you lose trust in someone, it’s like a marriage … you lose trust in someone, you know what I mean? It’s pretty simple.”
