Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden won’t play versus the Milwaukee Bucks on October 26, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Harden, who has rejoined the Sixers after being away from the team for 10 days, won’t travel to Milwaukee.

Harden has requested a trade from the Sixers to the Los Angeles Clippers. Philadelphia and Los Angeles are not close to making a trade since the Sixers want Terance Mann and Los Angeles doesn’t want to trade the 27-year-old guard.

Harden started 58 games for the Sixers last season. The 10-time All-Star averaged 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 10.7 assists while shooting 44.1% from the field, 38.5% from beyond the arc and 86.7% from the free-throw line. Harden led the NBA in assists per game for the second time in his career.

The Sixers were the third seed in the 2023 Eastern Conference playoffs. They swept the Brooklyn Nets in the first round but lost to the Boston Celtics in the second round in seven games. Harden averaged 20.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 8.3 assists versus the Nets and Celtics while shooting 39.3% overall, 37.8% from 3-point range and 87.3% from the foul line.

In the Sixers’ Game 7 loss to the Celtics, Harden finished with just nine points on 3-of-11 shooting from the floor and 1-of-5 shooting from 3. The 2017-18 MVP opted into his 2023-24 player option and requested a trade to the Clippers after he felt Sixers president Daryl Morey “ghosted” him before free agency started, according to NBA insider Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.
