One NBA writer is proposing that the Boston Celtics acquire Kenrich Williams from the Oklahoma City Thunder in a bold trade idea. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Celtics and Thunder:
The Boston Celtics trade Luke Kornet, Svi Mykhailiuk, Dalano Banton and 2024 first-round pick (top-20 protected) to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Kenrich Williams
Williams appeared in 53 games for the Thunder last season. He averaged 8.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 51.7% from the field, 37.3% from beyond the arc and 43.6% from the free-throw line.

The 28-year-old Williams has career NBA averages of 6.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 46.8% overall, 35.2% from 3 and 52.0% from the foul line.
“The Celtics may have some reservations about parting with a first-round pick for a 28-year-old role player, but if forward depth looks like the final missing piece of their championship puzzle, that should be a relatively easy concession to make,” Buckley wrote in his NBA trade column.”
Williams made 50 3-pointers last season. The Celtics, who acquired Jrue Holiday from the Portland Trail Blazers this offseason, could benefit from adding another shooter to the roster. Williams would come off the bench for the Celtics if Brad Stevens figured out a way to acquire him from OKC.
