One NBA writer is proposing that the Los Angeles Clippers acquire Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier in a bold deal. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Clippers and Hornets:
The Charlotte Hornets trade Terry Rozier to the Los Angeles Clippers for Nic Batum, Robert Covington, Brandon Boston Jr. and a 2028 first-round pick (top-five protected)
Rozier appeared in 63 games for the Hornets last season. He averaged 21.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.1 assists while shooting 41.5% from the field, 32.7% from beyond the arc and 80.9% from the free-throw line.
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Terry Rozier, Charlotte Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers Updates
The Clippers, who are trying to acquire James Harden from the Philadelphia 76ers, could pivot to Rozier since it would take less to acquire him. Rozier has career NBA averages of 13.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists with the Boston Celtics and Hornets. The Clippers could get Rozier from the Hornets without giving up Terance Mann.
Los Angeles could start Rozier, Russell Westbrook, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard and Ivica Zubac if the Clippers’ front office figured out a way to acquire Rozier from the Hornets, who are in rebuild mode and don’t really need the services of Rozier, who is better suited to play for a contender.
The Clippers lost to the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the 2023 playoffs but should contend for a championship this season if Leonard and George can stay healthy.

Rozier signed a four-year, $96 million extension with the Hornets in August 2021. The veteran will make $23 million this season and $24.9 million in 2024-25.
