One NBA writer is proposing that the Oklahoma City Thunder acquire Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors in a massive blockbuster deal. Frank Leiva of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Thunder and Raptors:
Oklahoma City Thunder receive: Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby
Toronto Raptors receive: Davis Bertans, Luguentz Dort, Aleksej Pokusevski, Ousmane Dieng, Jalen Williams, 2026 first-round pick, 2028 first-round pick
This proposed trade works under CBA rules. The Thunder would acquire $56.5 million in salary, while the Raptors would take on $46.6 million.
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Toronto Raptors, Oklahoma City Thunder Updates
Siakam and Anunoby are two of the best players in the NBA. The Thunder, who haven’t made the playoffs since 2020, could have a lethal starting lineup of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Anunoby, Josh Giddey, Siakam and Chet Holmgren if OKC’s front office figured out a way to acquire Anunoby and Siakam from Toronto.
Anunoby averaged 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.9 steals in 67 games last season. He led the NBA in steals per game and total steals and made the All-Defensive Second Team.
Meanwhile, Siakam put up 24.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game in 71 starts. He made his second All-Star team.
Both Anunoby and Siakam are eligible to sign extensions with the Raptors. However, neither star has signed one yet. That opens the door for teams to trade for Siakam and Anunoby.
The Thunder have the most future draft picks in the NBA. If the Raptors want to rebuild in the post-Fred VanVleet era, they should trade Siakam and Anunoby and get as many draft picks as they can for the future.
