One NBA writer is proposing that the Milwaukee Bucks acquire Gary Harris from the Orlando Magic. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Bucks and Magic:

Milwaukee Bucks trade Pat Connaughton, MarJon Beauchamp and Andre Jackson Jr. to the Orlando Magic for Gary Harris

The Bucks already made a blockbuster trade, sending Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers for Damian Lillard. Buckley, though, believes Milwaukee needs “a 2-guard who can hold his own defensively and sink outside shots.”

“Harris, 29, could be perfect for the job, as he’s long been a defensive menace and thankfully rediscovered his long-distance shot after it disappeared for a few seasons,” Buckley wrote in his NBA trade column. “Since the start of 2021-22, he has averaged 1.9 threes per outing on 40.4 percent shooting.”

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Gary Harris, Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks Updates

Harris appeared in 48 games for the Magic last season. He averaged 8.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 45.0% from the field, 43.1% from beyond the arc and 90.0% from the free-throw line.

The 29-year-old Harris has career NBA averages of 11.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists with the Denver Nuggets and Magic. He’s a career 37.0% shooter from 3-point land.

Harris has appeared in 28 postseason games during his NBA career, compiling averages of 10.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 43.1% overall, 35.8% from 3 and 83.3% from the foul line. The Bucks could bring Harris off the bench as a 3-and-D specialist if Milwaukee’s front office figured out a way to acquire Harris from Orlando.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Gary Harris, Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks Updates

The Bucks are expected to start Lillard, Malik Beasley, Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez this season. Milwaukee lost to the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2023 playoffs in five games, so the team is motivated to win the 2024 championship.
