James Harden reportedly left the Philadelphia 76ers to be with his sick mom in Houston, according to NBA reporter Jackson Gatlin. Harden is also trying to force the Sixers to trade him before the regular season starts next week.

Harden wants the Sixers to trade him to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Sixers and Clippers have discussed a Harden trade several times since Harden requested a trade in June. However, a deal hasn’t been made since Philadelphia wants Terance Mann and Los Angeles doesn’t want to part ways with the talented young guard.

Philadelphia opens the 2023-24 regular season on October 26 versus the Milwaukee Bucks. No one knows if Harden will play in that game if he’s still on the Sixers.
