One NBA writer is proposing that the Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors make a trade centered around Buddy Hield and Gary Trent Jr. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Pacers and Raptors:

After contract extension negotiations stalled out, Hield and the Pacers started dialogue to work on finding a potential trade with another team, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic. Hield is set to become an unrestricted free agent next offseason. He averaged 16.8 points for the Pacers last season while shooting 42.5% from beyond the arc.

Meanwhile, Trent Jr. averaged 17.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists for the Raptors last season while shooting 43.3% from the field, 36.9% from 3 and 83.9% from the free-throw line. The Duke product will also become an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
Neither the Pacers nor the Raptors made the playoffs last season. Indiana went 35-47, while Toronto went 41-41. The Raptors lost the 9-10 play-in game at home to the Chicago Bulls.
Hield has career averages of 16.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists with the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings and Pacers. He’s one of the best shooters in NBA history. Hield is a career 40.2% shooter from 3. He made the second-most 3-pointers (288) in the league last season.

As for Trent Jr., he has career NBA averages of 14.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists with the Portland Trail Blazers and Raptors.
