One NBA writer is proposing that the Los Angeles Lakers acquire two-time All-Star Zach LaVine from the Chicago Bulls in a blockbuster deal.

Eddie Bitar of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Lakers and Bulls:

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: Zach LaVine

Chicago Bulls Receive: Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell, 2029 First-Round Pick

LaVine appeared in 77 games for the Bulls last season. He averaged 24.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 48.5% from the field, 37.5% from beyond the arc and 84.8% from the free-throw line.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers Updates

LaVine has been heavily linked to the Lakers since he has the same agent (Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group) as LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Several teams have checked in with the Bulls about LaVine‘s availability, according to NBA insider Jamal Collier of ESPN, but no team has been willing to meet Chicago’s large asking price for LaVine, who signed a five-year, $215.2 million contract in July 2022.

LaVine has appeared in 348 games with the Bulls. He’s averaging 24.5 points with Chicago. However, the Bulls have won just one postseason game since acquiring LaVine from the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer of 2017 in the massive Jimmy Butler trade.

If the Bulls are not in the playoff picture near the 2024 trade deadline, don’t be surprised if LaVine is traded. The Lakers could start Gabe Vincent, LaVine, Rui Hachimura, LeBron and Davis if Los Angeles’ front office figured out a way to acquire LaVine from Chicago.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Zach LaVine, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers Updates

LaVine has career NBA averages of 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists with the Timberwolves and Bulls. He’s one of the top scorers in the league and projects to fit well next to LeBron and Davis since he’s a terrific shooter. LaVine is a career 38.4% shooter from 3-point land.
