The Miami Heat are coming off a loss in the NBA Finals to the Denver Nuggets. The team was desperate to add more star power in the off-season but lost out in the Lillard sweepstakes to the Milwaukee Bucks. Recently, Butler opened up about the finals loss and stated, “I didn’t do my job.”
Heat superstar Butler is not one to sugarcoat the details. He is usually straightforward in his approach and demands a lot from his teammates and himself.
That is why it is no surprise that he holds himself accountable. He was very candid when asked about how he feels about the finals loss. “I already lost, [what] the f— you want me to do about it?”
NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Jimmy Butler & Miami Heat Updates
For the upcoming season, the Heat star is not doubting that the team will return to form. For one, they had Tyler Herro, their top bench scorer injured and unavailable last year in the playoffs. That is a huge element that was missing from their offense. Now, all Butler can do is “suit that s— up in October. And I’m gonna whoop all y’all ass. Again.”
Butler was acquired by the Heat in 2019 in a four-team trade. Since joining the team, Miami has been in the finals twice. They lost both times. However, that is not discouraging for Butler who has led his team in win shares in all four seasons. He is determined to make it back to the finals despite changes to the teams in their conference.

Both the Bucks and Celtics who the Heat have beat in the past in the playoffs have gotten significantly better. They are the favorites to be in the conference finals. But, if history repeats itself then it is well known that the Heat have defied the odds each time in the post-season.
