The Boston Celtics made headlines in the offseason, acquiring two big names in the NBA. Jrue Holiday is the more recent player added to the roster. He replaces Marcus Smart as one of the best defensive guards in the league.

However, the addition that was made before that was Kristaps Porzingis, who spoke on the ‘super easy’ fit with Celtics superstars.

Porzingis came to Boston on a three-team trade that involved ex-Celtic Smart. He is said to make the team an instant favorite to make it out of the East. It will be challenging since the Bucks made a surprising trade for Damian Lillard. That being said, the 7’3 center fits in perfectly with the team. He mentioned how talented the team is.

“It’s super easy, honestly,” Porzingis said. “Those guys are so talented. Jayson draws so much attention that it opens things up for me, and that’s a perfect scenario for me. So I’m looking forward to more of those two-man, three-man actions where it’s really hard to guard because we don’t even know what we’re going to do. We’re freestyling it and playing off of each other. So it has to be pretty impossible for the other team to understand what’s going to happen.”

Prior to joining the Celtics, Porzingis played for the Wizards. He also played for the Mavericks and the Knicks, the team that drafted him. The Latvian has career averages of 20 points, 8 rebounds while shooting the ball 45% from the field and 36% from the three.

He is an essential addition to a team that is looking to remain competitive. With the young core of Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Porzingis adds a dimension that opens up the court for either player to operate.

The Celtics lost in the Conference Finals last season and the Finals the year before. They look to redeem themselves this year and hope to win a championship.
