One NBA writer is proposing that the Philadelphia 76ers acquire Buddy Hield from the Indiana Pacers and Terance Mann from the Los Angeles Clippers in a blockbuster deal. Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Sixers, Clippers and Pacers:
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Buddy Hield, Daniel Theis, Terance Mann, Norman Powell and Marcus Morris Sr. and a 2030 first-round pick from Los Angeles
Los Angeles Clippers Receive: James Harden and Jordan Nwora
Indiana Pacers Receive: Tobias Harris, a 2024 second-round pick (via Toronto) and a 2029 first-round pick from Philadelphia
“This trade is a net neutral in terms of draft capital, and it surrounds the Joel Embiid–Tyrese Maxey two-man game with more shooting,” Bailey wrote in his latest NBA trade column. “Trying to defend those two when Buddy Hield (one of the best three-point shooters of all time) and Norman Powell (40.6 percent from three over the last five years) are on the outside would be a nightmare. Given the potential ascension of Maxey, this doesn’t even necessarily take Philadelphia out of the two-star mold. It just surrounds those two stars with a better-fitting supporting cast.”
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Buddy Hield, Terance Mann, Philadelphia 76ers Updates
After contract extension negotiations stalled out, Hield and the Pacers started dialogue to work on finding a potential trade with another team, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Hield is one of the best shooters of all time. He was second in the NBA last season in 3-point field goals (288) and shot 42.5% from beyond the arc. The 30-year-old Oklahoma product is a career 40.2% shooter from 3-point land, which is good for 39th in NBA history.
Meanwhile, Mann put up 8.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for the Clippers last season.

The Sixers, who are still dealing with Harden’s trade request, could start Tyrese Maxey, Hield, Mann, Marcus Morris and Joel Embiid if Philadelphia’s front office figured out a way to acquire Hield from Indiana and Mann from Los Angeles.
