One NBA writer is proposing that the Memphis Grizzlies acquire Bogdan Bogdanovic from the Atlanta Hawks and OG Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors in a blockbuster deal. Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Grizzlies, Hawks and Raptors:

Toronto Raptors Receive: De’Andre Hunter, Luke Kennard, Brandon Clarke, a 2027 first-round pick from Memphis, a 2029 first-round pick from Memphis and a 2029 first-round pick from Atlanta

Atlanta Hawks Receive: Pascal Siakam and Jake LaRavia

Memphis Grizzlies Receive: Bogdan Bogdanovic and OG Anunoby

“Anunoby has been attached to the Grizzlies in rumors for several months,” Bailey wrote in his latest NBA trade column. “The idea of a defense with him, Marcus Smart and Jaren Jackson Jr. would be terrifying for opposing offenses. Losing the picks and Luke Kennard’s outside shooting hurts, but Bogdan Bogdanovic can replace some of the latter while adding some playmaking. After finishing second in the West last season, Memphis can justify a win-now move like this.”

Bogdanovic averaged 14.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 54 games for the Hawks last season. Meanwhile, Anunoby put up 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in 67 starts for the Raptors.

The Grizzlies could have a lethal starting lineup of Ja Morant (once he returns from his NBA suspension), Anunoby, Desmond Bane, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Steven Adams and a bench unit of Derrick Rose, Marcus Smart, Bogdanovic, Ziaire Williams and Xavier Tillman if Memphis’ front office figured out a way to acquire Bogdanovic from Atlanta and Anunoby from Toronto.

The Grizzlies won 51 games last season but lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the 2023 playoffs in six games. Memphis traded Dillon Brooks to the Houston Rockets and acquired Smart from the Boston Celtics in the offseason. The Grizzlies also signed Rose in free agency.
