Buddy Hield has been connected to various different teams in NBA trade rumors. Hield, who’s a reliable long-range shooter for the Indiana Pacers, is reportedly drawing interest around the league. However, Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton isn’t convinced that Hield will be traded any time soon. Haliburton responded to a fan during a livestream and shared his honest thoughts on the situation, via newsbreak.com.
“If you think a trade’s happening and I’m not aware, you’re a clown,” Haliburton said. “I would know by now, trust me. He would have called me by now crying.”
Hield is an NBA veteran who’s still just 30-years old. He’s been in the league since 2016 and has established himself as one of the best three-point shooters. Hield has shot over 40 percent from beyond the arc for his career. During the 2022-23 season, Hield averaged 16.8 points per game on 45.8 percent field goal and 42.5 percent three-point shooting across 80 contests.

The Pacers are in an interesting position. They feature young stars like Tyrese Haliburton on the roster. Indiana may be able to compete sooner rather than later. However, there are still questions on the roster that require addressing.
Trading Buddy Hield would allow the Pacers to receive young and promising talent along with draft capital. There isn’t a team in the NBA that would mind adding a stellar long-range threat like Hield.

Hield is entering the final year of his contract. He’s set to make over $18 million this season before hitting free agency. The primary roadblocks in a trade would be the financial element and the fact that Hield isn’t guaranteed to remain with a potential suitor past this season.
Still, acquiring him would make sense for a contender in need of three-point shooting help. With that being said, there is not a trade currently in the works according to Haliburton.
