76ers Trade For Blazers Star Jrue Holiday In Blockbuster Proposal

One NBA writer is proposing that the Philadelphia 76ers reunite with Jrue Holiday by acquiring the NBA champion from the Portland Trail Blazers. Eddie Bitar of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Sixers, Blazers and Los Angeles Clippers:

Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Jrue Holiday

Los Angeles Clippers Receive: James Harden

Portland Trail Blazers Receive: Norman Powell, Terance Mann, Bones Hyland

The Sixers’ ability to acquire Holiday from the Blazers is viewed as “increasingly unlikely” based on how the market is unfolding, according to NBA insider Kyle Neubeck of PHLY Sports. A big piece of that doubt is connected to the status of James Harden, who has requested a trade from the Sixers and will never work with Daryl Morey again.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Jrue Holiday, Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trail Blazers Updates

Holiday played in 67 games for the Milwaukee Bucks in 2022-23. He averaged 19.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 7.4 assists. The All-NBA defender signed a four-year, $135 million extension with Milwaukee in April 2021.

Holiday began his NBA career with the Sixers. The Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls and Sixers are teams that appeal to Holiday, according to NBA insiders Barry Jackson and Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald.

A California native, Holiday has career NBA averages of 16.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists with the Sixers, New Orleans Pelicans and Bucks. He has made five All-Defensive teams and two All-Star teams and helped Milwaukee win the 2021 NBA championship over the Phoenix Suns in six games.

It’s going to be fascinating to see where Holiday is playing next season. The veteran has to be shocked that he got traded by the Bucks since he told NBA reporter Jim Owczarski of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he wanted to spend the rest of his career in Milwaukee.

“Before I even won here I think I said I’m a Buck for life and I mean that like deep in my heart,” Holiday said. “I don’t want to play for any other team. I think we have a chance to continue to do great things as the Bucks team and organization so I want to be in Milwaukee.”

If the Sixers find a way to acquire Holiday, they would have a new Big 3 of Holiday, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.
