NBA Source Reveals Who Will Start For Lakers In 2023-24

The Los Angeles Lakers will start D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, LeBron James and Anthony Davis in 2023-24, league sources told NBA Analysis Network. Gabe Vincent, Max Christie, Taurean Prince, Cam Reddish, Jarred Vanderbilt, Christian Wood and Jaxson Hayes will be the reserves head coach Darvin Ham runs with.

The Lakers got swept by the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 Western Conference Finals. Russell, Reaves and Hachimura re-signed with Los Angeles in free agency, while Vincent, Prince, Reddish, Wood and Hayes joined the team.

Russell averaged 17.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 6.2 assists with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lakers last season. He signed a two-year, $36 million contract this offseason.

Reaves averaged 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists for the Lakers in 2022-23. He signed a four-year, $53 million deal this offseason.

Hachimura averaged 11.2 points and 4.5 assists with the Washington Wizards and Lakers last season. He signed a three-year, $51 million contract this offseason.

LeBron averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists for the Lakers in 2022-23. The future Hall of Famer did not require offseason surgery on his right foot.

Finally, Davis averaged 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.0 blocks for the Lakers last season. The Chicago native signed a three-year, $186 million extension this offseason. Davis is committed to Los Angeles for five more years and approximately $270.5 million. Davis’ extension, which kicks in for the 2025-26 season, is the richest extension in NBA history with a projected average annual value of $62 million.
