The Philadelphia 76ers are interested in acquiring Jrue Holiday from the Portland Trail Blazers, according to NBA insider Kyle Neubeck.

The Milwaukee Bucks traded Holiday to the Blazers in the Damian Lillard trade. Portland is not expected to keep Holiday.

Holiday appeared in 67 games for the Bucks last season. He averaged 19.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 7.4 assists while shooting 47.9% from the field, 38.4% from beyond the arc and 85.9% from the free-throw line. The two-time NBA All-Star signed a four-year, $135 million extension with Milwaukee in April 2021.

A California native, Holiday has career NBA averages of 16.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists with the Sixers, New Orleans Pelicans and Bucks. He has made five All-Defensive teams and helped Milwaukee win the 2021 NBA championship over the Phoenix Suns in six games.

Holiday played in 298 games with the Sixers from 2009-10 to 2012-13. He averaged 13.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists and made the 2013 All-Star team.

The Sixers are currently dealing with James Harden’s trade request. Philadelphia agreed to search out a trade upon Harden’s request after the future Hall of Famer picked up his $35.6 million player option for next season in June. However, the Sixers’ asking price for Harden was steep and no teams were willing or able to meet it.

Could the Sixers trade Harden to the Blazers for Holiday and then Portland send Harden to another team? It’s possible.
