NBA insider Shams Charania believes the Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics will try to trade for Jrue Holiday, who was traded by the Milwaukee Bucks to the Portland Trail Blazers in the Damian Lillard trade.
Holiday appeared in 67 games for the Bucks last season. He averaged 19.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 7.4 assists while shooting 47.9% from the field, 38.4% from beyond the arc and 85.9% from the free-throw line. The two-time NBA All-Star signed a four-year, $135 million extension with Milwaukee in April 2021.

A California native, Holiday has career NBA averages of 16.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists with the Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans and Bucks. He has made five All-Defensive teams and helped Milwaukee win the 2021 NBA championship over the Phoenix Suns in six games.
The Heat, Raptors and Celtics tried to trade for Lillard. However, the Blazers sent their franchise superstar to the Bucks. Along with Miami, Toronto and Boston, the Sixers are expected to pursue Holiday, who will not remain in Portland.
Holiday played in 298 games with the Sixers from 2009-10 to 2012-13. He averaged 13.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists and made the 2013 All-Star team.
It’s going to be interesting to see where Holiday is playing next season. The veteran has to be shocked that he got traded by the Bucks since he told NBA reporter Jim Owczarski of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he wanted to spend the rest of his career in Milwaukee.

“Before I even won here I think I said I’m a Buck for life and I mean that like deep in my heart,” Holiday said. “I don’t want to play for any other team. I think we have a chance to continue to do great things as the Bucks team and organization so I want to be in Milwaukee.”
