One NBA writer is proposing that the Boston Celtics acquire Robert Covington and Terance Mann from the Los Angeles Clippers in a bold proposal. Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Celtics and Clippers:

The Deal: Boston Celtics trade Malcolm Brogdon to Los Angeles Clippers for Robert Covington, Terance Mann and Jason Preston

“For Boston, despite falling out of the Clippers’ rotation last season, Robert Covington could replace some of the multipositional defense it lost when Grant Williams went to the Dallas Mavericks,” Bailey wrote in his latest NBA trade column. “Terance Mann would give the Celtics a soon-to-be-27-year-old combo guard who can provide 70-75 percent of what Brogdon does.”

Most people around the NBA believe the Celtics could trade Malcolm Brogdon since the veteran’s relationship with the team is in “peril,” according to NBA insider Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. The Celtics traded Brogdon to the Clippers before his medical evaluation caused LAC to back out of the trade. Brogdon has a partial tear in the tendon coming out of his right elbow that leads into his forearm.
