Since the Los Angeles Clippers haven’t been able to get over the hump in the Western Conference, could we see them trade one of their NBA stars?
A few years ago, the Los Angeles Clippers sent shockwaves through the NBA when they were able to pair up Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Seeing the Clippers pull this off shocked many, as the Clippers have always been thought of as the second team in Los Angeles.
Coming off winning a title with the Toronto Raptors, Leonard was poised to help bring the Clippers to the promise land. In addition to getting Leonard, the Clippers added Paul George who was very successful in the Eastern Conference with the Indiana Pacers and a star in his own right.
With both players being all-around good players, it looked like the Clippers would be title contenders led by the two. However, they haven’t lived up to the expectations and changes could happen.

According to Brian Windhorst, the Philadelphia 76ers could be primed to make a run at either Leonard or George.
Like the Clippers, the 76ers have struggled to get over the hump despite having a lot of talent and an MVP-caliber player in Joel Embiid. Due to the 76ers having some struggles, the future of Embiid in Philadelphia has been brought into question. As of now, the 76ers have James Harden with Embiid, but the relationship between Harden and the 76ers doesn’t seem great.
For George and Leonard, neither are getting younger at this point and their window to be stars in the league is certainly closing. If one would come to Philadelphia and pair with Embiid, it would be another even stronger team.

A lot can certainly change quickly in the NBA throughout the season and we will have to monitor what the Clippers and 76ers both do this season. Furthermore, we will certainly watch how things progress for both teams this coming season.
