One NBA writer is proposing that the Portland Trail Blazers trade for Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton and Miami Heat shooting guard Tyler Herro in a blockbuster deal. Ishaan Bhattacharya of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Blazers, Suns and Heat:

Portland Trail Blazers Receive: Deandre Ayton, Tyler Herro, Caleb Martin, Nikola Jovic, Jaime Jacquez Jr., 2027 First-Round Pick (MIA)

Phoenix Suns Receive: Jusuf Nurkic, 2026 Second-Round Pick (LAL)

Miami Heat Receive: Damian Lillard

“Deandre Ayton averaged 18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds last season but seems to not be in a happy marriage with the Suns, who have tried trading him away repeatedly,” Bhattacharya wrote in his latest NBA trade column. “The Blazers would have a starting center role for him, as he is still young enough to grow with the young core in Portland. The 24-year-old would be a fantastic player to shepherd through a rebuild that could become a fringe-contending roster soon.

“Tyler Herro would likely be moved forward but could find a home easily given his talent. The Nets could really look at a player like him and not have to deal with the Heat if he gets moved to Portland. He averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists last season but missed the playoffs.”

The Blazers are interested in acquiring Ayton from the Suns, according to NBA insider Gerald Bourguet. Portland could acquire Ayton in a three-team trade involving Lillard, who has requested a trade to the Heat.

Ayton averaged 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists last season while shooting 58.9% from the field and 76.0% from the free-throw line. He recorded 36 double-doubles.

Herro has removed “Miami Heat guard” from his “X” bio. The Kentucky product averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists last season while shooting 43.9% from the field, 37.8% from beyond the arc and 93.4% from the free-throw line.

If the Heat acquire Lillard, Herro will be traded, sources told NBA Analysis Network.
