The Indiana Pacers and Buddy Hield are reportedly working towards a trade. Hield is looking for a change of scenery and Indiana appears willing to help him find a new situation. The 30-year-old is drawing interest around the league. NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic revealed three teams that are reportedly interested in Hield, via The Rally.
“The Lakers were long rumored for Buddy Hield,” Charania said. “You look at teams like Dallas, Philly, Milwaukee. Those are the types of teams that could definitely use a shooter like Buddy Hield. I think they’ve had a level of interest in him over the last several months.”
The Lakers, as Charania said, have been mentioned as a potential Buddy Hield suitor for a long time. The Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers, and Milwaukee Bucks all being listed as well is interesting though.
All three of those teams would benefit from veteran outside shooting prowess, especially Milwaukee and Dallas. Meanwhile, the 76ers are considering all of their options given the James Harden uncertainty.

Hield is known primarily for his ability to knock down shots from deep. He’s shooting over 40 percent for his career and shot 42.5 percent from beyond the arc during the 2022-23 season with the Pacers.
Indiana understands Hield is drawing interest and they don’t want to give him away for minimal value. Suitors will need to surrender a decent amount of talent in order to land Buddy Hield. Perhaps making him part of a three-team trade could help financially, since he is owed over $18 million this season. It should be noted that Hield will be a free agent following the 2023-24 campaign.

For now, it’s uncertain what the future holds for Hield. The Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, and even the Lakers will be suitors to monitor as teams pursue a trade with the Indiana Pacers.
