After a disappointing season for the Milwaukee Bucks, could John Wall be a piece that helps get them to the NBA Finals?
The 2022-23 season did not go according to plan for the Milwaukee Bucks. In the playoffs, the Bucks were eliminated far earlier than they would have liked to be by the Miami Heat. The first-round elimination to the Heat was shocking for the Bucks, and the Heat went on to capitalize and go to the NBA Finals.
For the Bucks, the shocking elimination has resulted in an offseason that has now raised the question of how long will Giannis Antetokounmpo be in Milwaukee. Antetounmpo wants to win titles in the NBA, and while he loves Milwaukee, he has recently stated that winning is the most important thing.
With winning and keeping Antetokounmpo top of mind for the Bucks, Bleacher Report recently named John Wall as a player who could help them.
NBA NEWS & RUMORS: John Wall & Milwaukee Bucks Updates
Wall was once a superstar in the league with the Washington Wizards, but injuries derailed his career a bit. Even though Wall might not be a superstar anymore, he could provide some much-needed help off the bench at the point guard position.
In 34 games last season, Wall averaged 11.4 points, 5.2 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game. Wall didn’t log a ton of minutes for the Clippers off the bench last season, as he came in averaging 22.2 minutes per game, but as a backup guard, he was effective.
If Wall joined the Bucks, he would be a great weapon for them in the pick-n-roll, as he could attack the basket and look to score or kick it to one of the team’s talented three-point shooters.
NBA NEWS & RUMORS: John Wall & Milwaukee Bucks Updates
Due to the disappointing season, the Bucks’ organization must be all-in this season to put a winning team on the court around Antetokounmpo. If they suffer another early exit in the playoffs, Giannis would surely consider moving on from Milwaukee.
As the offseason rolls on in the NBA, it will be interesting to monitor the status of Wall in free agency.
