One NBA writer is proposing that the Los Angeles Lakers reunite with Alex Caruso by acquiring him from the Chicago Bulls in a bold trade. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Lakers and Bulls:

Trade idea: Los Angeles Lakers trade Jarred Vanderbilt, Jalen Hood-Schifino, 2024 second-round pick (via LAC) and 2025 second-round pick (via LAC) to Chicago Bulls for Alex Caruso

“Going back to Hollywood, Caruso could reprise his role as a featured reserve on a championship-focused franchise,” Buckley wrote in his latest NBA trade column. “Plus, if the Lakers brought him back, they might have enough depth to shop around a player like D’Angelo Russell and fill a different need on the roster, like depth on the wing or down low.”

The Bulls missed the playoffs in 2023 after making it in 2022. They lost the 8-9 play-in game to the Heat down in South Beach. Many people around the NBA believe Chicago’s front office could trade Caruso, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic at the 2024 trade deadline if the team is out of the playoff picture.
