One NBA writer is proposing that the Orlando Magic acquire Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson from the Miami Heat in a bold trade. Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed a four-team trade between the Magic, Heat, Portland Trail Blazers and Charlotte Hornets:
Orlando Magic Receive: Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Kai Jones and Keon Johnson
Orlando Magic Lose: Jonathan Isaac, Jalen Suggs, Chuma Okeke, Gary Harris and a 2027 first-round pick
“All of Orlando’s most interesting young players—including Banchero, Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr.—would stick around and be joined by a combo guard in Herro who’s averaged 20.4 points, 4.1 assists and 2.8 threes while shooting 38.7 percent from deep over the last two seasons,” Bailey wrote in his latest NBA trade column. “Plugging him into the rotation while losing Suggs and Harris would create some defensive shortcomings, but Orlando’s attack would be far more potent. The Magic could still play lineups with tons of length, thanks to Markelle Fultz, Wagner, Carter and Banchero.
“Robinson is a nice bonus. Adding him alongside Joe Ingles would give the bench plenty of outside shooting to mix in with the starters.”

Herro has removed “Miami Heat guard” from his Twitter bio because he’s expecting to be involved in the Damian Lillard trade. Lillard has requested a trade from the Blazers and only wants to get traded to the Heat. However, Portland and Miami haven’t made any progress on a deal.
A Kentucky product, Herro averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists last season for the Heat while shooting 43.9% from the field, 37.8% from beyond the arc and 93.4% from the free-throw line.
The 23-year-old Herro signed a four-year, $120 million rookie contract extension with the Heat in October 2022. The Milwaukee native has career NBA averages of 17.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 242 games with Miami. He broke his hand in the first round of the 2023 NBA playoffs versus the Milwaukee Bucks and never came back.

Robinson appeared in 42 games for the Heat last season. He averaged 6.4 points while shooting 32.8% from 3-point land.
