One NBA writer has named Tyler Herro, Ben Simmons and Tyus Jones as the San Antonio Spurs’ top trade targets. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report believes the Spurs should try to trade for Herro, Simmons or Jones.

“Teams can’t decide if Herro is a budding star or a spark-plug sixth man with too many defensive deficiencies to cut it as a high-minute starter,” Buckley wrote in his latest NBA trade column. “The Spurs can take that gamble, knowing Wembanyama’s defense might cover for Herro, while the latter’s off-the-bounce creation and three-point marksmanship could open things up for the former.

“If San Antonio doesn’t mind upping the risk factor, it take a shot at cracking the code with Simmons. A Simmons-Wembanyama pairing could cover a staggering amount of real estate on the defensive end, and Wembanyama’s many perimeter skills would widen attack lanes for Simmons. If the Spurs want to play it safer, a mistake-free ball-mover like Jones (older brother of Tre Jones) would simplify things for Wembanyama as he gets his career rolling.”
