The Boston Celtics would likely welcome a return by Blake Griffin, but it appears “unlikely” the former NBA superstar will re-sign with the Celtics, according to Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe

Griffin averaged 4.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists for the Celtics last season while shooting 48.5% from the field, 34.8% from beyond the arc and 65.6% from the free-throw line in 41 games. The Oklahoma product has career averages of 19.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 765 games with the Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets and Celtics.

While he’s no longer a star in the NBA, Griffin can still provide quality minutes as a reserve. It’s going to be fascinating to see where Griffin is playing next season. The six-time All-Star has made over $258 million in his career.
