One NBA writer is proposing that the Los Angeles Lakers acquire Myles Turner from the Indiana Pacers in a blockbuster trade. Lee Tran of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Lakers and Pacers:

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: Myles Turner

Indiana Pacers Receive: D’Angelo Russell, Jarred Vanderbilt, Jalen Hood-Schifino, 2024 Second-Round Pick (LAC), 2025 Second-Round Pick (LAC)

“There is no doubt that Myles Turner is a dream acquisition for the Lakers, especially this season while they are competing for a championship,” Tran wrote in his latest NBA trade column. “His skill set clearly has a place on a championship team, and the Lakers would be a team where he could be the best version of himself.”

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Lakers Updates

Turner averaged 18.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.3 blocks for the Pacers last season. The two-time blocks champion, who signed a two-year, $58 million extension with Indiana in January, shot 54.8% from the field and 37.3% from beyond the arc.

The Lakers almost acquired Turner and Buddy Hield for Russell Westbrook last summer. Los Angeles nearly sent Westbrook and unprotected first-round picks in 2027 and 2029 to Indiana for Turner and Hield before Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka determined that giving up two future draft picks was too steep of a cost to pay.

Westbrook got traded to the Utah Jazz last season, while Turner and Hield remained on the Pacers. The Lakers still have a level of interest in trading for Turner and Hield, sources told NBA Analysis Network, but ownership wants to see how the current roster does to start next season before making any trades.

Turner has career NBA averages of 13.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 2.3 blocks. The Lakers, who got swept by the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 Western Conference Finals, could start Gabe Vincent, Austin Reaves, LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Turner if Los Angeles’ front office figured out a way to acquire Turner.
