One NBA writer is proposing that the Utah Jazz acquire Norman Powell and Marcus Morris from the Los Angeles Clippers. Lee Tran of Fadeaway World proposed the following three-team trade between the Jazz, Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers:
Los Angeles Clippers Receive: James Harden, Collin Sexton
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Lauri Markkanen, Robert Covington
Utah Jazz Receive: Norman Powell, Marcus Morris Sr., Amir Coffey, Kobe Brown, Brandon Boston Jr., 2030 First-Round Pick (LAC), 2030 First-Round Pick (PHI), 2029 First-Round Pick Swap (PHI favoring UTA)
The Clippers have been trying to trade Powell and Morris all summer, sources told NBA Analysis Network. LAC tried to trade Powell to the Washington Wizards for Chris Paul. However, the Wizards wound up trading Paul to the Golden State Warriors for Jordan Poole.
Powell averaged 17.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists for the Clippers last season while shooting 47.9% from the field, 39.7% from beyond the arc and 81.2% from the free-throw line in 60 games. Meanwhile, Morris put up 11.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in 65 appearances while shooting 42.6% overall, 36.4% from 3 and 78.2% from the free-throw line.

“In this trade, the Jazz would receive some solid veterans as the salary part of this deal: Norman Powell and Marcus Morris,” Tran wrote. “Powell is obviously a prime candidate to trade down the line, as he is on a three-year deal. That means he could have value for contending teams, especially at the trade deadline. Morris provides salary relief with his expiring contract.”
The Jazz went 37-45 last season. They missed the NBA playoffs after trading Donovan Mitchell to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer. Utah acquired John Collins from the Atlanta Hawks this offseason. The franchise wants to build around Collins, Lauri Markkanen, Walker Kessler and Ochai Agbaji.
