One NBA writer is proposing a blockbuster four-team trade between the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers. Lee Tran of Fadeaway World proposed that the Heat acquire Damian Lillard, the Pelicans trade for Tyler Herro, the Knicks receive Brandon Ingram and the Blazers get Julius Randle.

Miami Heat Receive: Damian Lillard

New York Knicks Receive: Brandon Ingram

New Orleans Pelicans Receive: Tyler Herro, 2024 First-Round Pick (NYK)

Portland Trail Blazers Receive: Julius Randle, Duncan Robinson, Jamie Jaquez Jr., Nikola Jovic, 2027 First-Round Pick (MIA), 2029 First-Round Pick (MIA)

Lillard has requested a trade from the Blazers and only wants to get traded to the Heat. However, Portland hasn’t been impressed with Miami’s offers for Lillard, so many people around the NBA believe a three or four-team trade will be required for Lillard to land with the Heat.

“This potential trade could be a smart move for all four teams that are part of this deal,” Tran wrote. “The Knicks and the Heat would both get star-level players that raise their ceilings and allow them to gain an edge in an increasingly competitive Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Pelicans and Blazers get a solid package that allows them to win in the future, and add draft picks to their chest of assets.”

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Damian Lillard, Brandon Ingram, Tyler Herro, Julius Randle, Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Pelicans, Miami Heat & New York Knicks Updates

Lillard averaged 32.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 7.3 assists for the Blazers last season in 58 games. There remains no shift in Lillard’s mindset and his goal of playing for the Heat in the wake of the NBA’s initiative to warn Lillard and his agent that any further comments made “suggesting Lillard will not fully perform the services called for under his player contract in the event of a trade” will be subject to NBA discipline.

Ingram averaged 24.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists for the Pelicans last season. However, the one-time All-Star only appeared in 45 games, and according to NBA reporter Christian Clark of NOLA.com, Ingram’s inability to play through minor discomfort has frustrated some of his teammates.

Herro averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists last season. He was third on the Heat in points per game, trailing only Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. The Kentucky product has removed “Miami Heat guard” from his Twitter bio since he expects to be part of a Lillard trade.

Randle averaged 25.1 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists last season. The two-time All-NBA forward underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle after the 2023 NBA playoffs. Some people around the NBA believe the Knicks need to trade Randle due to his demeanor.
