Warriors Trade For Pacers’ Myles Turner In Bold Proposal

Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers, Golden State Warriors, NBA Trade Rumors

The focus of the Golden State Warriors remains on NBA title contention while they still have Stephen Curry playing at a superstar level. The team already made a bold move to acquire Chris Paul, but could they get another big move done?

The Warriors built a champion through the draft. Then, they added Kevin Durant to the equation. Finally, they won a title after Durant left. That was only two years ago. With that in mind, the Warriors could be champions again next season. They ought to be respected as title contenders.

With that said, they’re of the dark horse variety. As it currently stands, the Warriors are nobody’s favorite to win the NBA title next year. Could that change if they acquired Myles Turner of the Indiana Pacers?

The Trade Proposal

Indiana Pacers Receive: G/F Andrew Wiggins, 2026 First-Round Pick (GSW)
Golden State Warriors Receive: C Myles Turner

Of course, this is not the first Myles Turner trade proposal to find its way to the internet. That’s an understatement. Turner has been in trade rumors for almost as long as the Warriors have been a dynasty. Yet, he’s still in Indiana.

In fact, the Pacers extended him this season. That may have been a commitment to Turner. On the other hand, we wouldn’t be so sure.

The Pacers could have been extending Turner to increase his trade value. They’d never get this type of package for him if he was about to hit free agency. Should they accept it now?

Why The Indiana Pacers Do The Deal

For the Pacers, this is about picking a direction. This isn’t the one many are expecting them to take. The Pacers have been heavily linked to Pascal Siakam recently. If anything, fans are expecting them to take a step forward next season.

They could do that. At the same time, this team has an intriguing young core. They just drafted Jarace Walker, and the Pacers have Tyrese Haliburton and Benedict Mathurin on the roster.

Wiggins could help them remain somewhat relevant. Throw in an unprotected first-round pick and the Pacers may not be able to turn this deal down. Should the Warriors?

Why The Golden State Warriors Do The Deal

Losing Wiggins stings. We’re well aware of that. He’s the best pure 3-and-D wing on this team. At the same time, the Warriors have got the pieces to weather his absence. Klay Thompson can slide up to the 3, and Gary Payton III is a viable option as well.

Besides, the Warriors won’t need Wiggins’ perimeter defense as badly as they do if they make this trade. They’ll have Myles Turner protecting the rim, after all.

Imagine him paired with Draymond Green. Green’s versatility will make Turner’s life easier. All he has to do is function as a stationary rim protector, and the Warriors should have one of the best defenses in the NBA. Meanwhile, having a floor spacer like Turner at the 5 could unlock their offense. In fact, it could be key to them extending their dynasty.
